Happy Thanksgiving!

For some it might just be Black Friday's Eve but, to me it's meant to be a day for family and friends. A day when the mundane takes a break and we can find respite in the company of our loves and piles and piles of rich, delicious food. Every year we go around the table and say what we are most thankful for and it always takes a moment for the well of words to flow but, once they do, they start happily tumbling out of our mouths as we realize the scales of good and bad have been tipped in our favor this whole time. That's a holiday that's worth celebrating.

Sometimes, when things are going well Jupiter aligns with mars, I can afford a splurge on a the kind of holiday outfit that makes me giddy. When I saw this skirt at modcloth I felt like I had just seen my soulmate across a crowded room. "Hello...it's you I'm looking for..." and can we all see why? This skirt incapsulates everything I love. This skirt defines me. It's black AND colorful and that print! Foxes and deers, oh my!

And the best part is the skirt is the perfect Christmas print with the deers and the bright red yet, the birds and sunflowers make this the kind of piece I could easily wear any time of the year or even for multiple holidays! That's what makes a skirt like this so worth while. It's entirely unique. Believe me...I searched everywhere for a cheaper option. Even fabric stores didn't have anything near the beauty that is this skirt. I couldn't help but dust a little Christmas skirt magic on Thanksgiving because today deserves some of our holiday best too.

  1. I love this outfit. The skirt is really fabulous and I adore how you've put everything together (I'm pretty certain I would style a very similar looking outfit)! :D

  2. Oh, that skirt is amazing and I LOVE how you styled it! It's always exciting when you are able to afford a little splurge (and I'm glad I'm not the only one who would say that skirt is a splurge- I feel like so many people think anything under $100 is affordable but when you're on a tight budget, um... not so much.) and that skirt looks well worth it! I'm glad you had a good Thanksgiving!

    Your daughter is adorable. <3

Haha, I know! I don't even have furniture that costs as much as the splurges I've seen on other blogs lol.
