Style Imitating Art Time!: Hello Sports Fans!

Tree of Life, Henri Matisse
Stained glass, 1951

Fellow Wisconsinites, please forgive my unintentional nod to the ol' green and gold. Green and mustard yellow are two of my favorite colors and I have piles of clothes in both colors. But, I religiously avoid pairing them together because I know Green Bay Packer Chic is not a thing. Not that I don't like the Packers, because I do,  I just don't want to feel like I am going tailgating in a dress and heels. Despite this fact, I knew I had to wear this dress for SIA this week. The print is reminiscent of the pattern on the stained glass and I needed a nice dose of yellow to bring it home.

Check out the real sun flares, guys! Score!

  1. You look gorgeous in this dress!

I totally know the faux pas of wearing green & gold outside out of a sporting event.. it's haunts my thoughts every time I accidentally put that color combo together. It's just too cute and hard to not do! haha

    1. Thank you so much!

I wonder if people in other states go through the same harrowing wardrobe choices based on their sports teams.

My 16-year-old gets out her green and yellow nail polish when we head to Oakland A's games

    3. A male perspective is always appreciated. I know my uncles have tons of Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewer dress shirts that they wear all the time.

  2. Should go to an Oakland Raider game sometimes.

There a bunch of women who wear mini-dresses and heels in the parking lot.

    1. It's usually way too cold for that in Wisconsin! We're usually braving snow and below freezing temperatures! Now, a Milwaukee Brewers game...that's a different story. Lol

I got the dress at Target a couple years ago. Target is a great place to find good low-cost clothes.

    1. Thanks Teddi. :) I've actually thought quite a few times that I must subconsciously consider mustard yellow a neutral because of how much I wear it.
