Style Imitating Art: Leopard I

Leopard I, by Megan Carn

Admitting this might get me kicked out of the style blogging community but...ok, here I go...I don't like leopard print. I can appreciate it on others but, for me it's just tacky. I think I might be repressing a leopard print trauma from my childhood. It happens, you know.

So, for this gorgeous SIA I swapped the spots around with the solid colors and wore this printed teal and red shirt dress with a solid camel colored cardigan. I kept the look kind of cool and chill because I can tell that leopard is one cool cat.

I did however find this bow that was a free gift with purchase from modcloth one year for Christmas. So, I did manage to have one little leopard touch.

I can't wait to see all the styles that
everyone else comes up with. I can just imagine all the awesome color blocked leopard print looks!

  1. I too am not a fan of leopard print. I think it reminds me of Married With Children and that era of tacky 90's women. But I like your play on the colors and prints here!

    1. Thanks :)

Peggy Bundy is exactly who I think of when I think of leopard print! Which is silly because I've seen some sophisticated leopard print looks. Still...just not for me lol.

  2. I don't blame you for wearing that cardigan more than once. It's the perfect Fall color! I have a very similar one and it takes everything out of me to avoid wearing it every day. It's one of my favorites. Hehe. Love the bright teal that you paired with it!

    1. Haha, yes! It is the greatest cardigan and I want to wear it every single day. I normally wouldn't wear the same thing two posts in row but, SIA required it and I always give SIA what it wants!

Full disclosure though...I do have one more fall outfit post with this cardigan!

  3. Oh man, ME TOO. I've never really liked leopard print that much -- I had one leopard print skirt that I thought was okay, but eventually got rid of... and I have a pair of leopard print flats. But that's as much leopard as I'll ever wear. Haha, recently I got a skirt that is mostly floral but has leopards hidden amongst the foliage and I was like... "so... if it has leopards ON it, does that make it leopard print? Because this is the only leopard print I'll wear!"

I love your interpretation of the picture, though, and that shirt is SO pretty! And your LIPSTICK. If I could put in a heart-eyes emoji, I would.

    1. Lol! Well, I think actual leopards are the most authentic kind of leopard print!

      Thank you so much!
